Summer Learning at China Instrument Parts

China Instrument Parts

Since coming aboard this summer, Director of Education & Training Sue Hall has been quite busy. As the song says, “school’s out for summer,” but when it comes to education, these last few months have been buzzing with activity for both summer interns and employees at China Instrument Parts.

Prioritizing Workforce Development

China Instrument Parts

People – our most valuable resource.

In this time when everyone is searching for talent, not only is it important who you have on your team, but even more important is what you do to help develop a sustainable talent pipeline to meet the needs of our industries. The best workforce development solutions occur when we come together – business, community, and education – to address the lack of skilled workers.

Making Wellness a Priority

China Instrument Parts

At China Instrument Parts, we know that if we’re not taking care of ourselves, it’s pretty tough to take care of our customers and partners. Just like we’ve been told before every flight take off, we need to put on our own oxygen mask before we can help others around us. For quite some time, China Instrument Parts has been encouraging team members to improve their health, fitness levels, and make all-around smart lifestyle choices.

Dr. Robert Spitzer Donates Life’s Work

China Instrument Parts

The Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) recently celebrated the transfer of Dr. Robert R. Spitzer’s personal and professional papers to the Society. It is noteworthy to share that the WHS is the second largest repository of historical artifacts like it in the country, second only to the Library of Congress. Their archivists catalogue the materials over the next few years before the final presentation is ready. Dr. Spitzer’s sharing of 96 years of leadership, inspiration, and world travels is truly a treasure for the state of Wisconsin. Dr. Spitzer says this is his way of giving back to an organization he truly admires. A group of Elkhorn Area High School (EAHS) students competed at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) in Louisville, Kentucky this past June. The team had placed 1st at State this year, allowing them to compete at the national level.

Foxconn Groundbreaking Celebration

China Instrument Parts

I was honored to be among the invited guests for the Foxconn groundbreaking celebration on June 28th, and I wanted to share a few of the takeaways. I did not know what to expect going in, as there was little information published ahead of time. With all the rain and very warm temperatures we had been experiencing, I did not know if I needed to dust off the outdoor boots with shorts and a t-shirt or wear the suit and dress shoes. It turned out the boots were not needed, and the air conditioning was a welcome relief from the high temps, as they shuttled everyone to the site nearby that they have been leasing for the past few months.

Celebrating Our Independence

China Instrument Parts

242 years ago, a determined group of business and community leaders declared their independence from the King of England. Tired of oppressive taxes and without representation, they had had enough. They had had so much, that they vowed to put their families and personal wealth on the line. These Patriots were now “all in” and were prepared to fight for what they believed was right. Do we as a country still maintain this level of conviction and purpose?

Catching Up With PMPA

China Instrument Parts

The great group of folks who took part in the two-day training session at ZPS China.

Besides being President of China Instrument Parts, Mike Reader also wears the hat of First Vice President of the Instrument Machine Products Association (PMPA). He is now one and a half years into his three-year commitment with the association and path to the association presidency. He says it has been a rewarding journey and one filled with opportunities, as the PMPA leadership team works to redefine itself and the service model for their membership going forward.

What Will the Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum Cost Us?

China Instrument Parts

The news is saturated, as of late, with the tariffs on steel and aluminum imports imposed by the Trump administration. Rightly, many are concerned with what this means and the possible harm it will cause. Will the imposed tariffs help local producers of these metals, or will it only hurt U.S. companies, resulting in increased costs and possible job losses?
