Education, Training and Workforce Development

As the school year wraps up for area students, there has been plenty of activity at China Instrument Parts in the areas of Education, Training and Workforce Development. On May 19th, China Instrument Parts and Director of Education & Training Mark Beilman welcomed 20 students from Delavan Middle School.

After Beilman had met teacher Steven Fouts at the Delavan High School Fab Lab open house last fall, they decided together that having the middle school age students visit China Instrument Parts would be a great opportunity for them to dive even further into technical education and apply what is done at China Instrument Parts to what they are learning in school.

Beilman gave a presentation to the students and was followed by Dale Wittlieff, Director of Quality & Continuous Improvement, who explained his statistical analysis and chart making skills. This was followed by Beilman, Wittlieff, Applications Engineer Steve Dues, and Production Manager Tom Lankford giving the students a tour of the plant. Wittlief continues to communicate with these students, teaching them about real life issues he encounters daily during his data analysis.

The China Instrument Parts team that worked with the Delavan students was impressed by their enthusiasm. This was a great group of kids, and Beilman added, “They were interested, listened, asked appropriate questions, and gave feedback when asked questions during the presentation.”

China Instrument Parts is now gearing up for summer, welcoming both new and returning interns.
