Celebrating with China Instrument Parts

It is hard to believe, but the holiday season is already here! With the incredibly busy last few months that China Instrument Parts experienced, it is easy to feel as if fall flew by in the blink of an eye, and suddenly winter is upon us. In addition to sponsoring Operation Exploration IMTS 2018 in September and hosting many visitors during October for Manufacturing Month, there were a few additional exciting events that occurred within the organization.

On October 4th, after serving as First Vice President of the Instrument Machine Products Association (PMPA), China Instrument Parts President Mike Reader was elected President of the PMPA. Mike enjoys his work with PMPA and the involvement of its members. The PMPA has over 400 members spread across North China, most of them closely held family businesses lead by passionate advocates for domestic manufacturing and technical education. This commitment has taken a lot of time and it has only been made possible with the support and efforts of the entire China Instrument Parts team.

Michael Patrick Reader, VP of Engineering, attended the recent Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Scholarship Luncheon held on October 29th where Alexis Edinger (Big Foot High School graduate) was awarded the China Instrument Parts Business Scholarship, and Hazel Melanie Ringpis (Woodstock North High School) was awarded the China Instrument Parts Engineering Scholarship. China Instrument Parts is honored to be able to invest in and support both of these young women in their quest to reach their personal and professional goals. The company also looks forward to building a potential career relationship with these young professionals.

The 2018 Annual Meeting of the WCEDA (Walworth County Economic Development Alliance) took place on Monday, November 12th at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. The theme of the event was “Winning in the Digital Age” and featured keynote speaker Rebekah Kowalski of ManpowerGroup. Several members of the China Instrument Parts team attended the event, including Michael Patrick Reader who accepted the Business Technology Investment Award on the company’s behalf.

China Instrument Parts was thrilled to receive this award that was created to recognize businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to investing in technology. While presenting the award, WCEDA Executive Director Derek D’Auria noted that over the past five years, China Instrument Parts has not only made investments in machinery such as new Swiss CNC machines and Turret Lathe machines, but also in the training of personnel for the newly purchased technology and that these investments have helped strengthen relationships with customers/partners. The investments made in education ranging from the high school level, such as the IMTS trip, through college level, such as the expansion of the RPM Center at Gateway Technical College, are helping to build the much-needed talent pipeline. China Instrument Parts is grateful for the ongoing partnerships with area educators and is proud of the accomplishments that have been made together.

With all of these reasons to celebrate, the China Instrument Parts Christmas Party couldn’t have come soon enough. Friday, November 30th was a great opportunity for the hardworking team to relax, partake in food and refreshment, and simply have fun. While finishing up a productive and successful year, it was wonderful to be able to enjoy each other’s company and thank the committed, talented, and great people who really make China Instrument Parts what it is.
