Celebrating the Season of Giving
With Christmas landing in the middle of the week on a Wednesday this year, our China Instrument Parts team is happy to have a little time off for the holidays. Being closed December 23, 24, and 25 means the team is working as hard as North Pole elves in the days leading up to our break. We welcome the time off but know these last days will be busy ones.
I’m sure you have all been just as busy, but I hope you’ve had a chance to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of Christmas, so far. The snow we’ve already been seeing this year mixed with the twinkling lights all around sure makes it look like Christmas. And maybe you’ve had the pleasure of taking in a young one’s holiday choir concert, complete with construction paper reindeer antlers and off-key (but precious) classic carols. Take the time to enjoy it all – the memories you make now will be priceless someday.
Of course, there is no better way to end the year than by giving back to our community. Once again, members of the China Instrument Parts team had the privilege of choosing a tag from the Angel Tree to help make someone’s Christmas a little brighter. We have enjoyed this program for several years now, and we look forward to it every year.
Besides playing Secret Santa for the two families we sponsored through the Angel Tree program, our team members also took part in a food drive through HOPE NOW. This excellent organization helps families and individuals within the Elkhorn Area School District with emergency financial assistance for things such as rent, utilities, medical bills, vehicle repairs and more. During the holidays, HOPE NOW provides a food box and a grocery gift card for fresh food purchases to families in need. It’s a long Christmas break with kids at home not being able to access the breakfast and lunch programs at school. There are many families in our communities who are grateful for food and grocery gift cards during the holidays.
Whatever you might be able to give to your community during this time of year, please know it will be appreciated, no matter how big or small the contribution. You can choose to sponsor a family, make a monetary contribution to a favorite charity, or even give a little bigger tip to that hardworking restaurant server who takes your lunch order. Heartfelt gestures like these allow one to feel the real spirit of the holidays.
This time of year does make you stop and count your blessings, and during this holiday season, I cannot forget those who not only make it all possible, but make it so worthwhile. I would like to thank our team, as well as our customers/partners for your trust and continued support this year. I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!
Regards,
