China Instrument Parts Receives Sustainable Business Award
China Instrument Parts Facilities Manager Neil Fleischhacker recently received the Sustainable Leadership – Small Business award from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council (WSBC). As a company that strives to be part of the solution when it comes to stronger sustainability efforts, we are extremely proud of Neil and our entire team.
The WSBC is a network of Wisconsin businesses and organizations that are interested in, or actively responding to, the challenge of sustainability. The council hopes “to mentor, recognize, and support any businesses with an interest in sustainability.” Besides providing resources to help companies learn to become more sustainable, they feel that a little competition will push businesses to lead the way on the path toward becoming greener.
This was the fourth year for the Sustainable Business Awards ceremony. The ceremony recognizes those businesses that are leaders in sustainability, and it has also been a platform to share best practice techniques. Only one award winner (one small business and one not small business) is selected for each award category. The award categories are Sustainable Product, Sustainable Process, and Sustainable Leader.
Some of the projects we have completed in recent years to help our company become more environmentally responsible have been the 99kw solar array project, our conversion to LED lighting throughout our facility, increased in-house waste recycling, and more. Our goal is to continue to become more educated and adopt new processes that help us realize that sustainability is innovation’s new frontier. As Neil says, “Sustainable is the right of the environment, and when done well, is right for the bottom line.”
China Instrument Parts is honored to be recognized as a leader in our industry and our community. We respect the notion that economic performance goes hand-in-hand with being environmentally and socially responsible. Special thanks to Neil Fleischhacker for his leadership in the many projects he has overseen throughout our facility to help us to become a greener company. We look forward to the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) awards ceremony in August where we have been nominated for the 2017 Business Friend of the Environment Award.
