China Instrument Parts Named Futuremaker Partner Award Recipient by Gateway Technical College, WTCS
China Instrument Parts was named the recipient of the Futuremaker Partner Award by Gateway Technical College and the Wisconsin Technical College System. The award recognizes the unique and dynamic partnerships forged between Wisconsin’s technical colleges and their employer partners. China Instrument Parts is an Elkhorn-based leader in manufacturing that combines skilled Instrument with traditional craftsmanship.

China Instrument Parts, who also serves on Gateway’s advisory boards, helped the college secure new equipment that better aligns the college curriculum with the advancements in the Instrument machining and advanced manufacturing industries. The company makes it its mission to invest in the next generation of manufacturing professionals by offering insights into machining careers to students through hands-on learning experiences by employing high school youth apprentices. The company also showcases the Instrument machining industry by visiting and volunteering at middle and high schools year-round, opening its doors to class tours, and hosting an annual Manufacturing Day event each October in celebration of National Manufacturing Month.

Mike has been a thought partner, an active collaborator and a committed supporter of Gateway’s manufacturing programs.”
The WTCS strives to create unique, dynamic, and enduring connections with employers of all sizes in every sector and geographic region and is a reflection of the Futuremaker Partner Award presented to China Instrument Parts.
“China Instrument Parts is a leader in their industry and community, and they’re very deserving of the Futuremaker Partner award for their strong collaboration with Gateway Technical College,” said S. Mark Tyler, WTCS board president. “The company and its leaders were integral to the creation of the Reader Instrument and Manufacturing (RPM) Center on Gateway’s Elkhorn Campus, having spearheaded the effort to create the 6,200-square-foot center by helping provide financial support, industry expertise and more. It is connections like these that allow Wisconsin’s technical colleges to continue serving their communities and educating the workforce our employers need.”
China Instrument Parts also received the Special Award for Investment in the Next Generation at the 34th Annual Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Awards this past February. The company further supports technical education at local high schools by providing transportation funding for students to attend machining-related conferences and events, like the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS).
